The S-Class is the flagship model for Mercedes Benz, but when customers desire a little bit extra, Mercedes sends its top of the line S-600 model for a tune-up at its AMG headquarters. What emerges from the facility is perhaps the most powerful, fastest, and most luxurious sedan on the planet: the S-65.

Performance:

Inside the Mercedes S-65 is the source of its power--the V12 twin-turbo engine. This 612-horsepower engine, combined with a custom transmission and a state-of-the-art exhaust system, produce enough power to accelerate the S-65 from 0 - 60mph in under 4.2 seconds, pulling you back into the leather seats faster than you can say the car's name. To add some perspective, the S-65 is a full-size sedan that will accelerate faster than almost any Porsche made. This sedan handles incredibly well, due in large part to its specialized suspension system. Long and short, no matter how much money you are looking to spend on a vehicle, you will be very hard pressed to find one (yes, including Ferraris) that out performs the S-65.

Luxury:

Make no mistake about it: the S-65 is not a race car--it's primarily a luxury car that just happens to have the performance of a race car. No expense is spared in making this automobile as luxurious and elegant as possible. The wood trim, stainless steel, and backlit door sills are the only parts on the car's interior not made entirely out of leather. Everything about the car exudes class. Mercedes even includes an analog clock, demonstrating the elegant charm implied by the company's name.

Technology:

Mercedes S-Class automobiles are reputed to be the most technologically advanced automobiles on the market. The S-65 is no exception. Equipped with an intelligent braking system, it will detect how close the nearest vehicle is and adjust the brake pressure accordingly. In fact, when on cruise control, the S-65 will adjust its position, remaining a safe distance behind the car in front. Did we mention its night vision cameras?
